Kali Gandaki River is probably one of the best rivers for lovers of white water rafting for it originates in the Himalayas and flows downstream through steep montane terrain including the world’s deepest gorge, thus catching up ferocious current and countless challenging rapids.

The 3-day Kali Gandaki River Rafting trip organized by the highly experienced crew at Orbit Alpine Adventures is perfect for adventurers who are already skilled in paddling as well as those who know just the basics of rafting. In addition to the thrill factor offered by the rapids and bounces you encounter every now and while rafting in Kali Gandaki River, magnificent views of traditional houses on the hillsides, terraced paddy fields, deep gorges, and lovely beaches collectively make this trip absolutely worthwhile.

Just like before the departure of every trip we organize, you and your fellow rafters will join an orientation session before you embark upon this exciting rafting trip. Since our Kali Gandaki River Rafting trip actually begins from a location near Pokhara, you can even combine it with our Ghorepani – Poon Hill trek or some other trek we offer in the Annpurna region of Nepal.

Day to Day Itinerary

OPEN ALL DAYS Outline Itinerary

Our representative will pick you up from the Airport and take you to your hotel. In the evening, your guide will meet you to discuss your rafting program.

At 7 AM, you will start from Kathmandu and after a 7-hour drive (most of the route is scenic), you will reach Pokhara. Spend the afternoon around town and in the lakeside. Also ready the equipment for your rafting before dinner.

After breakfast you will drive to the put-in point near Beni. In this four hour scenic drive you, you will have stunning views of Annapurna, Fishtail, and Dhaulagiri peaks. Once there you will unload all the equipment, get the safety briefing, have lunch and start the exciting adventure. At first there are some moderate rapids, a kind of a warm-up, but when you encounter two big ones – ‘Small Brother’ and ‘Big Brother’, you will completely understand the joy whitewater rafting brings. While kayaks will scout the river, your guide will do the extra hard work of leading and maneuvering the raft efficiently. You will arrive at Modi Khola confluence where you will get on the beach for setting up tents, begin the campfire, and merry-making.

When the rafts are packed today you will start down the river for a day full of spectacular sceneries with amazing views of Mt. Annapurna, and Mt. Himalchuli. Today you will tackle more-than-average sections and at least one challenging rapid in a section that is plentiful with wildlife and lush forests hanging onwards from the cliff tops. At the end of the day, you will camp in the wilderness.

Today you will be back on water where the first thing you will notice down the river will be a huge boulder in the confluence. The boulder is considered a shrine by the local people. Here you will find a good enough crowd who have stopped for break. A short distance down the river, you will come to the stop. You pack your gears and head to Pokhara on a bus.

Catch a flight or drive to Kathmandu. Later in the day you can spend shopping or strolling around the city. Back at the hotel you can go through the pictures you took during the adventure.

After breakfast or depending upon your flight schedule, you will head to the Airport a few hours ahead of the flight time.
